Why Timber Frame??

Timber frame is a modern method of construction (MMC) but derives it's roots from centuries old techniques. In the days before stress analysis, carpenters would simply use oversize timbers to create the structural shells of houses. The fact that many houses are still standing hundreds of years later is testament to their skill and craftsmanship.

 

Modern timber frame uses stress graded timbers to create a structural studwork shell. This means that the strength of the structural components can be accurately predicted and buildings can be designed to resist
